Deep Tissue Massage

An offspring of Swedish massage, deep tissue massage is more targeted at the deeper areas of the muscles and uses many of the same techniques and movements as Swedish massage, but with a more intense pressure.

Deep tissue massage may be more uncomfortable than a Swedish massage, but should not cause pain. You will want to drink plenty of water after your massage, to flush out waste that was released. The day after your deep tissue massage, you may have soreness, because of waste but this should pass in the 24 hours following.

Before you massage starts, tell your therapist about areas of tension and any areas of pain, so they can tailor your personal massage.
